Just kidding! That’s a little dramatic, but I loathe getting sick. I think it’s because I rarely get sick and I’m always on the move, so when something keeps me from moving as much as I’m used to and interferes with my reading, walking the dog, going to the gym, etc, it affects my mood. Anyway, welcome to the latest editing of this thing! I hope you and yours are well. Let’s do this.
Yeah, I got sick, but I was in NYC, so it was okay-ish
I had a blast at the Brooklyn Book Festival. NYC is one of my favorite places in the world, and the fact that my writing has taken me there twice in the same year makes me very, very happy. I was on a panel with Lincoln Michel, Allegra Hyde, and Victor LaValle. They were all gracious and awesome. I also did a signing and had a chance to meet a lot of old friends, make some new ones, and chat with readers. We also sold out of books, which is always a great problem to have. That night I started feeling weird and thought it was a stomach bug. Plot twist: it wasn’t. I went to the Met for the entire day that second day and kept feeling like someone had beaten me up. I came home and took a Covid test. It wasn’t Covid. I took another one two days later. Also negative. I think it was a really bad case of the regular flu. Meh. Here are some photos from NYC:
Off to Telluride!
Remember when I told you October was going to be very busy and I was going to spend a lot of it on the road? Well, one of the reasons I’m doing everything I can to feel better is that on Thursday I’m going to get on another plane to go to the Telluride Horror Show. I’m excited because I’ll be hanging out with my good friends Adam Cesare and Jeremy Robert Johnson, reading spooky stories at night to horror lovers, and watching a bunch of awesome horror movies. Also, Telluride is gorgeous and I’ve never been, so expect a lot of photos. More info here:

No Limiar do Inferno
I received my copies of No Limiar do Inferno from DarkSide Books and they are stunning! I’m very happy with what they did with the book. Plus, all the extras—fake money, art cards, etc—are amazing.
SAW
I watch horror all year long, so I never feel like watching 31 horror movies in October. Plus, with all the reading I do, I rarely watch more than three to five movies per month. In any case, one thing I like to do every October is rewatching a franchise I love. I’ve done it with many franchises, and this year I picked the Saw movies. More on that soon.
I have a lot to do before I head to Colorado, so that’s it for now. As always, thanks for reading! See y’all soon.
